Hello and THANK YOU for your continued support of the Gnawbrew Beer, Art and Music Festival!!
This year we are very excited about the festival because we have so many new amenities to offer you!! We hope you can help us spread the word and answer any questions your friends, families, and associates may have leading up to the festival opening. Please invite your Facebook friends to like the Gnawbrew page and please invite them to the Gnawbrew Event that is posted. I will add links to both for those who can not locate them once I get back to a real computer!
This year at Gnawbrew:
1. Our Homebrew Competition
This year we are having another competition for the regional Homebrewers. This year’s winner will have the honor of brewing his/her winning beer in a 50 gallon batch at Powerhouse Brewing Company’s new state of the art facility with the help of award winning brewer and Powerhouse proprietor Jon Myers.
The winning beer will be placed on tap at Powerhouse and the winner will also have a tapping party held in his/her honor to celebrate the kickoff of next year’s festival event. To enter in the competition Homebrewers must bring 5 gallons of their brew of choice (Bottles or Corny Keg) and a blind sample will be given to the judges.
The judges will select their top 3 favorites on drinkability alone to be sent to the final round of the competition. The 3 guest judges will then select their favorite to be crowned the winner.
2. Even More Breweries
We are welcoming back the 2 wonderful breweries who supported us last year, Powerhouse Brewing Co. and Big Woods Brewing Co. But in addition we have added the amazing Hawcreek Brewing Co. out of Hope, Zwanzigz Brewing Co. out of Columbus, and Highway 50 Brewing Co. from Butlerville. Bringing our total number of professional breweries to 5 and enabling us to tout that we are supported by every major brewery between Nashville and North Vernon.
In addition to being at the festival and bringing samples of their staple brews these breweries will also be whipping up a special batch only available at our festival for the patrons to sample.
3. Fun and Games
We will have several game stations set up around the festival grounds offering popular drinking games such as Flippy Cup, Beer Pong, BattleShots, Beer “Twister”, and more!
4. More music!!!
We had so much interest by the amazing local talent about performing at GB13 this year so we are going to start the music at Noon as opposed to 4pm like we did last year.
We have all local musicians performing and that is something we are very proud of.
The schedule will look something like this but is of course subject to change.
12p-1p-Don Ford
1:15p-2:15p-Megan Maudlin
2:30p-3:30p-Jeff Morgan
3:45p-5p-White Lightning Boys
5:15p-6:30p-The Royal Gutter Cats
6:45p-8:15p-Tha Bone Boogity
8:30p-9:45p-Howard, Lewis and Lovins
10p-12a-Gravelmouth
5. Beer Exchange
The amazing folks over at Beverage Cooler will be bringing a few of their upper echelon models for everyone to use for the beer exchange. In a nutshell folks are encouraged to bring a 6 pack/Growler/Bomber/etc. of their favorite beer and put it in one of the coolers. Our staff bartenders will then do rounds of tastings out of the coolers, discussing the brewery, style, and flavors of the different beers. It’s quite a community experience. These tables will be open when the patrons begin to arrive at 11am.
6. The Fine Artists
This year at Gnaw Brew we will be featuring five local artists handpicked to demonstrate and display his/her own individual talent. These artists will also have pieces for sale and viewing.
Amber Wimmenauer will be creating one of kind recycled custom pieces which the buyer designs.
